sourdough cinnamon buns

today is the day that basically every person in sweden eats cinnamon buns.

In Sweden our fika is sacred, and what is more Swedish than our beloved cinnamon buns, or Kanelbulle as we call them.

I tried to make sourdough cinnamon buns for the first time ever, following a recipe by Sebastien Boudet.

Niklas managed to create a really vivid sourdough that we use every week to bake something, and I tried to only use sourdough and no yeast in this dough.

I LOVE cardamom and always use cardamom in pods that I grind just before using it. It’s sooo much more flavour and smells amazingly.

The cinnamon buns turned out really good! I think the sourdough added a lot of flavour and character to the buns. Perfect for a sunday fika!
