welcome to my blog about food, flowers and other things that make me happy.
Today’s harvest
Zucchini, purple beans, figs and the last broad beans. Not satisfied with the last round of broad beans, not sure if it was too dry when we were away in July or if it’s this variety.
grilled fig leaf and honey pannacotta
Grilled fig leaves in cream sounds really weird, but I promise, it’s super delicious. With a fragrance of coconut and a hint of tobacco. The flavour is soft with hints of coconut and figs.
Figs from the garden, prosciutto crudo & balsamic vinegar.
Figs from the garden, prosciutto crudo, balsamic vinegar. Quick but non the less wonderful starter!
fig season!
Our fig tree really loves this Mediterranean-like weather we have at the moment. There are lots of fruits and I find them sweeter and tastier than previous years. Tonight we had a salad with grilled figs, prosciutto crudo, walnuts and grilled bread with chèvre.
Tarte flambée with figs, chèvre & rosemary flavoured honey.
Lovely figs from the garden on top of a Tarte flambée with créme fraîche, chèvre and rosemary flavoured honey. The final touch was a few drops of aceto balsamico and sea salt to balance all the flavours. Yummy!
